Welcome to Kings Copse Primary School

Welcome to Kings Copse.

Thank you for your interest in our school.

Whether you are a parent, prospective parent or interested in working with us, we would value the chance to talk to you and show you around our wonderful school.

At Kings Copse Primary School, we strive to encourage children to be the best that they can be. Aspirations and aiming high are central to how we want our children to think.

Children are nurtured to develop as respectful, independent, resilient, collaborative, curious motivated individuals, with a broad and balanced education which builds on children’s strengths. They develop strong roots, working with our strong team of staff in a caring environment which values learning in and outside the classrooms. It is our goal to be an ambitious community, working together in valuable partnership with parents to give all of our children the best start to their lifelong education.

We are a happy and friendly school community, fostering an inclusive and caring environment in which to inspire and motivate our children. Each day we welcome more than 200 children to the school to learn across 8 single-form entry classes. The staff and governors are justly proud of our school and the support and guidance we are able to give pupils, preparing them for life beyond primary school and into their adult lives.

The school has amazing facilities, including a craft room, food technology room, music and drama room, a magnificent library and bespoke provision for pupils with a visual impairment. Landscaped outdoor play areas, a large nature area and pond, extensive grassed areas and playgrounds provide space and facilities for our children and for community use.

The school operates an onsite breakfast club and after school care is also provided onsite by an outside provider.

We work hard to make our school a happy and stimulating environment for the children in our care, a place where they can learn, grow and develop.

We have designed our curriculum to ensure children have access to broad and balanced experiences enriched by visits, visitors and involving parents. We always incorporate children’s interests when planning our schemes of work and closely assess progress in order to provide challenge and support.

We strive to build strong relationships with our parents and we value and encourage their involvement and support throughout the years of their child’s education with us. We have high expectations of what our children can do, and we work hard – and encourage parents to support us – in order that our children can make the best possible progress, regardless of their starting points.
